Favorite food?
If it is spicy, I'm game.
Least favorite food?
Not a big fan of oysters. Just, not a fan. Also, desserts from a box or grocery store. Just a tragic situation. I'm always more than happy to make a dessert, because then I can eat said dessert!
Strangest food you have ever eaten?
Probably the haggis we had in Scotland. Mushy and crunchy at the same time. That was weird. And then I found a can of haggis in a store the next day and made the mistake of reading the ingredients.
Kitchen appliance/utensil you would most like to be stranded on an island with?
Pirate spatula.
Iron Chef you'd want to
Masaharu Morimoto. He's like the Chuck Norris of cooking. Maybe with less impressive facial hair though.
Fantasy kitchen design elements?
Indoor kitchen: commercial flat-top griddle, tons of counter space, sous chef. Outdoor kitchen: In addition to a standard commercial gas grill, definitely a wood burning smoker, BBQ pit, and pizza oven.
Favorite ingredient to cook with?
I grind up my own chili powder and try to sneak some into most anything I cook that is not a dessert.
Favorite aspect of cooking?
Creating a meal from scratch that I have been daydreaming about for days beforehand.
Greatest personal culinary achievement?
Habenero Brownies. Spicy chocolate deliciousness.
Greatest historical culinary achievement of all time?
Baked beans for breakfast. Best. Idea. Ever. Not your fancy baked beans, but the plain ol', blue can, Heinz beans in tomato sauce.
Bacon or Pie?:
As awesome as bacon is, I am going to have to cast my vote for pie. It doesn't get much better than a fresh strawberry pie. Plus, baking most berry or fruit pies allows for some creative wiggle room when making the filing, at least it does when I bake...
Mary:
Favorite food?
Growing up it was my Dad’s spaghetti, now it would probably be my Awesome Lasagna. Pretty much any homemade Italian dish because there are endless combos to fit any craving!
Least favorite food?
Stuffing. No need to waste valuable tummy space with something that has been stuffed up a turkey’s …well… you get the picture…
Strangest food you have ever eaten?
I was with Isaac for the haggis adventure…ewww…
Kitchen appliance/utensil you would most like to be stranded on an island with?:
Well, to quote a friend “a refrigerator, duh”. However, I believe the intent of this question is to be a favorite kitchen utensil , and that would have to be my garlic press. Awesome garlic flavor, minced perfectly, and no stinky hands!
Iron Chef you'd want to
Cat Cora- we could do Ouzo shots together.
Fantasy kitchen design elements?:
A self-cleaning kitchen.
Favorite ingredient to cook with?:
Wine! Much more fun than water or broth! Have you ever watched Bobby Flay poach an egg in Pinot Noir? Brilliant!
Favorite aspect of cooking?:
The smells that arise as all of your ingredients start coming together. You don’t get that experience when you eat out.
Greatest personal culinary achievement?
It’s a tie between the first pie I ever made from scratch (Strawberry Pie for my Husband’s birthday) or creating my very own Thanksgiving dinner while in London.
Greatest historical culinary achievement of all time?
Country Gravy. You can’t have a bad meal when country gravy is involved.
Bacon or Pie?:
Bacon. Have you ever tried a bacon covered maple bar? Bacon is king.
